The London Convention Bureau is part of London & Partners, the city’s business growth and destination agency — offering a free, impartial service to help unlock London’s potential for IFOS 2030.

Venue sourcing and introductions to PCOs, DMCs, and housing agents
Marketing toolkit and sector information
Letters of support from City Hall and VisitBritain
Visa information and regular meetings with UK Visa & Immigration
Bid management and digital production
Citywide accommodation sourcing (1,000+ bedroom events)
On-site London Information desk (subject to availability)
Travel advice and 10% discount on Visitor Oyster Cards

Healthcare Compliance in the UK

The UK’s self-regulatory authorities are the ABPI and ABHI. Their Codes of Practice are among the strictest in Europe, though recent EFPIA/EUCOMED revisions have brought the rest of Europe more in line with UK standards.

  • New ABPI Code of Practice launched in 2024
  • Some variance remains between national codes

VAT in the UK

UK VAT is 20% (as of August 2026), applied based on where the event is held. 

  • Reclaimable: accommodation, meals, venue hire, transport, marketing
  • TOMS may apply if offering a housing service to attendees

London will not host IFOS 2030, but what an extraordinary journey this has been.

While this wasn’t the result we hoped for, we are immensely proud of the vision we put forward and enormously grateful to everyone who supported it.

Thank you to every society, voting delegate and colleague who explored our bid, asked questions and shared their priorities with us. Our deepest thanks also go to the entire London 2030 team, whose energy, expertise and belief made this campaign possible.

We warmly congratulate Hong Kong on its successful bid to host IFOS 2030. We wish the team every success and look forward to joining the global ENT community there.

London’s bid was built around a promise:

A Congress for Every Nation. A Legacy for Every Generation.

Although the Congress will not be coming to London, the ideas behind that promise still matter. The conversations, partnerships and ambitions created through this campaign will continue to shape our work.

This may be the end of the bid, but it is not the end of the vision.
